How to get your kids Interested in gardening

Most young children naturally love being in the dirt and are excited to plant seeds and watch the plants grow.

If you are interested in gardening yourself, ask them to help you when they are small. Small children love imitating and helping adults.

When your kids are new to gardening, keep things simple.

Choose easy-to-grow plants such as: Herbs : Basil, mint, rosemary. Flowers : Marigolds, zinnias, or sunflowers. Vegetables : Tomatoes

Involve them in planning designing and research of plants.

let them pick one thing to plant - something they like watermelon, and make sure they tend to it. One success may lead to another attempt, and, so on.

In the end, you get them to harvest them and eat them.

Encourage and appreciate what they are are doing.

Many children like having a plot of their own to work and plant what they want. Having a sense of ownership often helps them get more invested in the process.

Teach them the science involved in gardening. Do not just tell them what works but also why and how it works.
